Steps-by-step Guide To Install Windows 8 from Flash Drive / USB
Windows 8 comes very very handy and some really innovative features. It is the highly modified Windows version from all the other previous versions so you are always recommended to test it first if it is comfortable for you or not.
Microsoft lets you purchase both Windows 8 DVD as well as ISO Image File to make DVD. So, in sake of testing Windows 8, it is much comfortable to install them from Flash Drive or USB. Using USB Device is much faster and safer and as it is re-writable so, you can clear the space whenever needed.
Here, I am telling your step-by-step tutorial to install Windows 8 (Standard/Pro) from USB Device.

Pre-Requisites / Requirements
- A Flash Drive or USB Device ( with at least 4GB storage)
- Windows 8 DVD or ISO Image
- A working computer with having a DVD Driver and Windows 7/Vista/XP installed
- Windows USB/DVD Download Tool – Download Link
Steps To Mount Windows 8 on USB
Step 1 : Create ISO Image of Windows 8 Disk
If you are having ISO Image of Windows 8 then you can leave this step. If you are having Windows 8 DVD then you first need to create its ISO Image using any popular ISO Image Creator. Create ISO Image of your Windows 8 DVD and save it to your computer’s local drive.
Step 2 : Download & Install USB/DVD Download Tool.
Windows USB/DVD Download Tool is a free tool provided by Microsoft to do the forward steps. Download it from Download Link given at 4th points in Requirement. However the tool is entitled as Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool but works perfectly with Windows 8, Windows Vista and Windows 7 too.
Install it in your PC. The software will make its shortcut icon at desktop.
Step 3 : Using USB/DVD Download Tool
Click on the software tool’s desktop shortcut and start it. Now, in the opened window, you need to proceed from step 1 to 4.
Step 1 of 4 : Choose ISO File Location of Your Windows 8 Disk.
Step 2 of 4 : Choose Media Type Option. Skip this step since we are not going to burn DVD from that ISO Image and this step will let you do the same.

Step 3 of 4 : Insert USB Device, choose Flash Drive or USB Connected Hard Disk from the drop-down menu. After choosing your USB Device click Begin Copying.
* Note : It is good to format the Flash Drive first to proceed safely without inconvenience.
Step 4 of 4 : Now the USB/DVD Download tool will copy all of your file to your choosen USB Device. After completing the step, it will automatically make your device bootable by saying Bootable USB device created successfully.
Step 4 : Installing Windows 8 from Flash Drive or USB
Now, restart your PC, enter your BIOS Boot menu, from the Boot Sequence, change your Primary boot device from you computer’s Hard Disk to Flash Drive or USB Device.

Step 5 : Install Windows 8.
Now, after changing the boot sequence, your PC will restart and proceeding booting with USB Drive. It will simply run as if you are installing Windows 8 from DVD. So proceed further with much faster Windows 8 installation.
